03-03-2023 Daily Predictions United Rugby Championship Munster vs Scarlets

Munster vs Scarlets

Two teams in excellent form clash in this match as Munster entertain the Scarlets at Musgrave Park. Both teams have won their last four matches and will be looking to make it five wins on the trot. Munster are currently in fifth position and look to have secured their playoff spot but they will want another victory to leapfrog Edinburgh into fourth place thus ensuring a home playoff match. The Scarlets will be delighted with their recent form although they may have left it too late to try and finish in the top eight. They are eight points behind the playoff places and will need a miracle to finish in the playoffs.

TIP: Munster were ruthless in their last match when they thrashed Ospreys 58-3 but they can expect a much tougher match against a Scarlets side in excellent form. The home team recently received news that their All Black centre Malakai Fekitoa will be leaving at the end of the season but since the news broke, he has played his best match in a Munster jersey. The pressure is off him, so expect him to be a key player. The bookies have Munster as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.08, Gbets 1.07 and Hollywoodbets 1.08

Munster vs Scarlets

  • Munster have won the last four matches between the sides.
  • Scarlets last beat Munster in 2019.

Latest results for both teams

Munster beat Ospreys 58-3 in their last match while Scarlets beat Edinburgh 42-14 in their last match.

The Scarlets have been famous for their running rugby and early in the season they struggled for cohesion but lately they are back to their attacking best. Munster on the other hand have plenty of young players in the team and have stuck to their tried and tested formula of grinding teams down with their powerful pack. The man that has been in scintillating form for the home team is Gavin Coombes although he has been desperately unlucky not be called into the Irish team. The match will be decided by the forwards and Munster certainly have the edge in this department. I am predicting a Munster win by 20 points.
