03-09-2021 Daily Prediction Rugby Championship New Zealand vs Argentina

New Zealand vs Argentina

Argentina caused one of the biggest recent upsets in rugby when they beat New Zealand in Christchurch in the last match. The home side were overwhelming favourites to win the match but the Pumas put in the performance of their lives to heap more pressure on All Blacks boss Ian Foster. The visitors were immense on defence and never allowed the home team any space. NZ could not cope with the rush defence and continued to make errors while the Pumas grew in confidence as the match progressed.

TIP: The Pumas were dominant in most areas of the game except the scrums. No doubt NZ will be targeting the scrums as they won numerous scrum penalties. The biggest concern for the home team will be their discipline issues as they gave away unnecessary which were capitalized upon by sharp shooter Emiliano Boffelli. He had a brilliant game and rightly named man of the match. The bookies have New Zealand as favorites and I’m also tipping them for the win. These are the best odds for this bet: Worldsportsbetting 1.14, Playabets 1.15 and Sunbet 1.14

HEAD TO HEAD STATS

 New Zealand vs Argentina

  • NZ have won three of the last four matches between the sides.
  • Argentina have won two of the last five matches between the sides, which are their only ever victories against NZ.

Latest results for both teams

Argentina beat NZ 25-18 in the last match these teams played.

PREDICTION

All Blacks coach has kept faith with same XV that took the field in the last match despite the loss. Some of the key players like Richie Mo’unga and Ardie Savea need to step up in this match if the home team are to bounce back. The Pumas have made a few changes but they will again look to their amazing back row players like Pablo Matera and Marcos Kremer to gain dominance at the breakdown. The All Blacks will need to be wiser with their kicking game and not try to run from deep in their own half. I am expecting a backlash from the home team and predict them to win by 20 points.
