03-12-2021 Daily Predictions Gallagher Premiership Gloucester vs Bristol Bears

Gloucester vs Bristol

Gloucester are currently sitting in sixth spot on the log with 23 points and Bristol are in 11th spot with 14 points. Both teams have played eight matches. The home team welcome Bristol to Kingsholm feeling very confident as they had a morale boosting away win to Wasps in their last match. Bristol on the other hand were trounced at home 36-20 by the Northampton Saints. They are far cry from the team that topped the league in the round robin stage last season. It seems as though they have never quite recovered from last season semifinal that they lost after leading 28-0.

TIP: The home team will look to continue with their good start this season which sees them just two points below the playoff positions. Their new flyhalf Scottish international Adam Hastings has been a revelation and he is one of the reasons for their resurgence. Bristol are missing players like Nathan Hughes and Semi Radradra who are both injured but they should still be performing better than they have. The bookies have Gloucester as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the victory. The best odds on this bet are as follows:  Worldsportsbetting 1.55, Playabets 1.48 and Sunbet 1.47

PREDICTION

Bristol are a team that is most dangerous when they run the ball from anywhere on the field but this season the cohesion in the backline is sorely missing. The halfbacks and Callum Sheedy in particular have to find a way to link up with their dangerous players like Charles Piutau. Gloucester have their own super star backline player in Louis Rees-Zammit. He is one of the quickest players in world rugby and if given space he will find his way to the tryline. The more he sees of the ball the better for Gloucester. The home team has been playing good rugby that’s why I’m predicting a Gloucester win by 8 points.

Predictions and Odds in details

As with every rugby match the hard work starts in the forwards and looking at the both forward packs I will have to say that the home team looks like they have the edge in the pack. Bristol will do well to defend the rolling maul as Gloucester are excellent at the maul. Bristol have to play their running brand of rugby, that’s when they are at their best and they need to get Piutau more into the game. The bookies fairly decent returns on the outright Gloucester win but the value bet is the home team on the handicap. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-4.5) 1.90, Sunbet (-5.5) 1.92 and Playabets (-4.5) 1.82
