04-07-2023 Daily Rugby Predictions Junior Rugby World Cup 2023 Australia Vs England

Australia vs England

Australia and England meet in this Group B encounter with the loser being eliminated in the group stage. An England win will see them qualify for the semi-finals either as the group winner or the best second placed team, thanks to their draw and win so far in the competition. Australia can win and still not qualify as they need other results to go their way.

The boys from Down Under will need a massive improvement from their last game as they were bullied into submission by the bigger Ireland pack. England will no doubt target the Aussie pack as this is their biggest weakness.

TIP: England made numerous changes in their last match as they gave all their squad members a run out but still managed to thrash Fiji 53-7. Australia looked competitive to start in their match against Ireland but as the match wore on the Irish pack took control of the match. The bad news for the Aussies is that England have arguably the strongest forward pack in the group. The bookies have England as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.25, Gbets 1.26 and Hollywoodbets 1.25

Australia vs England

  • England have won all five previous meetings between these teams.

Latest results for both teams

Australia lost 30-10 to Ireland in their last match while England beat Fiji 53-7 in their last match.

The wet weather that engulfed the previous round of matches certainly helped England against Fiji as they are more used of that type of weather. They dominated the set pieces and their rolling maul was unstoppable in the match. The Aussies will be thankful that dry weather is predicted for this match as this will suit their running style of play. They will want to avoid the set pieces and the best way to do this will be to keep ball in hand. The junior Wallabies will look to their powerhouse inside centre David Vaihu to get them over the advantage line as he has been their standout player. I am predicting an English win by 6 points.
