06-01-2023 Daily Predictions United Rugby Championship Dragons vs Bulls

Dragons vs Bulls

The Dragons welcome the Bulls to Rodney Parade for this match in the URC. Both teams have been on awful runs that have seen them lose three matches in a row. The Dragons will be particularly disappointed with their 33-17 loss to the Scarlets in the last match as they played against 14 men for a large chunk of the match. The Bulls, losing finalists from last season have looked a shadow of that side as they were thrashed by a 27 point margin by the Sharks. Coach Jake White must shoulder much of the blame as this losing streak only began when he made wholesome changes to the team.

TIP: The Bulls name has become famous for their powerful forwards and general forward dominated play but in the last three matches their pack has looked lightweight. They seem to missing Captain Marcell Coetzee more they expected but will be glad to facing a Dragons pack that is not known for their physicality. The visitors will look to go back to their default setting which is to overpower opposition in the forwards. The bookies have the Bulls as favourites and I am also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 1.30 Playabets 1.30 and Sunbet 1.28

HEAD TO HEAD STATS

Dragons vs Bulls

Latest results for both teams

The Dragons lost 33-17 to the Scarlets in their last match while the Bulls lost 47-20 to the Sharks in their last match.

PREDICTION

The Dragons started the season with much hope but their performances in the last three matches have left a lot to be desired. They will again look to their Captain and player of their season Ross Moriarty who has been excellent and must be close to a Wales recall for the Six Nations. The Bulls have finally selected Wandisile Simelane in his preferred position of outside centre and it will be interesting to see how he plays after the failed attempt of playing him at fullback. The Bulls will need to get their rolling maul working again as it is one of their biggest weapons. I am backing the Bulls to win this match by 15 points.
