Leicester vs Saracens
Leicester welcome Saracens to Welford Road for these teams first match of the year. Both teams will be disappointed with their current positions as the defending champions are in 5th spot while the Tigers are down in 7th spot. Saracens have blown hot and cold this season and much has to do with injuries to key players. Leicester on the other hand have found form on their home patch although their away record remains poor. They will need to win this match if they are to make up ground on the top four teams as they are currently seven points off the pace.
TIP: It is not often at club level that there will be as many mouth-watering head to head battles like in this match. World Cup winners Handre Pollard and Jasper Wiese come up against their opposite numbers in Owen Farrell and Ben Earl. All four players played in the semi-final in the global showpiece with the Saracens duo out for revenge. The match will be won in the forwards and the visitors have the edge in this department. The bookies have the Saracens as favorites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.90, Gbets 1.85 and Hollywoodbets 1.85
Leicester vs Saracens

- Seven of the last eight matches have been won by the home side.
Latest results for both teams
Leicester beat Bath 35-22 in their last match while Saracens beat Newcastle 37-19 in their last match.
Saracens have embraced change in the last couple of seasons by playing an expansive game which paid dividends when they won the title last season. This season however they have struggled with their attack and much of the reason is the erratic form of Farrell. He can be brilliant on his day but has had far too many off days this season. The Tigers on the other hand have had a minor resurgence since Pollard returned to the team. He is never flashy but is excellent at controlling the game with his boot. If the visitors can find an answer to the Tigers rolling maul, they will win the match. I am predicting a Saracens win by 5 points.
