06-02-2022 Daily Predictions Gallagher Premiership Harlequins vs Sale Sharks

Harlequins vs Sale Sharks

Harlequins come into this match on the back of a shock loss to Bath. The champions will be keen to bounce back in this match. They are currently in fourth position with 43 points while their opponents in this match are in 9th place with 29 points. Sale are fresh off a great comeback win over the Tigers in the last match. They are boosted by the return of two internationals in Faf de Klerk and Manu Tuilagi albeit from the replacements bench. They have not been badly affected by national call up unlike Harlequins who have key players involved in the Six Nations.

TIP: Quins will be missing Marcus Smith, Alex Dombrandt and Joe Marler, all three very influential players and their absence was sorely missed in their last match against Bath. The Sale team relies heavily on their forwards to give them the go forward ball that they so badly crave. The player that Sale will look to for those game changing moments is Tom Roebuck as he has been in superb form in the last few weeks. The bookies have Sale as favourites and I agree with this. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 1.46, Playabets 1.44 and Sunbet 1.44

PREDICTION

Harlequins only know one way to play and that is to attack from anywhere on the field. This is an area that they will miss Smith the most and his replacement Tommy Allan will to step up to fill the void. One of the highlights in the match will be the two Springbok centers Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Andre Esterhuizen clashing in the midfield. They are both big ball carrying centers and their battle could be bone crunching.  Quins will be hoping to get their rolling maul firing as this could be another avenue for them to score. Sale are desperate for the points as a loss could end their semifinal hopes. I’m backing the away team to win by 8 points.

Predictions and Odds in details

The battle at scrum time will be interesting as Quins use this as an attacking weapon. We saw in their last match that they struggled without Marler in the front row. Sale will look to attack them at scrum time. The performance of Sale’s halfback pairing will be the deciding factor in this match. If they have a great match then the visitors will win. The bookies are offering decent returns on the Sale win therefore I suggest a handicap bet on Sale . The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-5.5) 1.95, Sunbet (-4.5) 1.83 and Playabets (-5.5) 1.85
