06-11-2021 Daily Prediction Rugby International France vs Argentina

France vs Argentina

France welcomes Argentina to Paris for this Autumn international on Saturday. Both these teams come into this match in very poor form. France have lost three of their last four matches with the one win coming against Australia. This did however play the series against Australia with a weakened team. Argentina are on a horror run of seven consecutive losses. They will fight it very difficult to win this encounter against a very strong home team. France welcomes back their top players led by Antoine Dupont. Dupont is the heartbeat of this team and will again underline his status as the world’s premier number 9. Argentina once renowned as the best scrummagers in the game have regressed to the point that they are now one of the weaker teams in the scrum.  France will want to play their high tempo game and run the Pumas ragged before closing out the victory in the last quarter.

TIP: The French team will look to dominate Argentina in the forwards as this is where they are super strong. They will look to their pack to give them the platform to attack and release their potent backline. The player that will hold the key is new French flyhalf Matthieu Jalibert. He deservedly get the 10 jersey as his performances for Bordeaux have been brilliant for many seasons now. The Pumas biggest problem in all their matches is poor discipline and this was very evident throughout the Rugby Championship where they had the highest number of yellow cards. If they continue this trend then France will emerge with an easy victory. The bookies have France as favourites and I also tip them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows:  Worldsportsbetting 1.11, Playabets 1.08 and Sunbet 1.08

PREDICTION

France have chosen a backline that can be devastating with the likes of Damian Penaud and Gabin Villiere on the wings. Both these players have excellent aerial skills and are lightning quick across the field and if they can get enough ball then we could be in for a very entertaining match. The Pumas have persisted with Santiago Carreras at 10 and he looked out of place in this position against Australia. They have a great loose trio of Facundo Isa, Marcos Kremer and Pablo Matera who are all world class players. Their battle with the French loose trio will go a long way to deciding the outcome of the match. The bench strength of the French will be a deciding factor in this match and I expect the home team to win this match comfortably by 20 points.

Predictions and Odds in details

This match is quite strange in the fact that Argentina for so many years found the scrum to be their biggest weapon could now find it as their Achilles heel in this match. The French forward pack is amongst the strongest in the game and they love to scrum and maul. Their rolling maul is a major source of tries for them and if Argentina don’t have a solid maul defence they will have a torrid time. The French are a very difficult team to defend against as the interplay between forwards and back can be scintillating. Their offloading game is the best in the world so therefore the Pumas need to protect whatever possession they have. The bookies are offering very poor returns on the French outright win therefore we suggest the home team on the handicap in this match. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-16.5) 1.90, Sunbet (-15.5) 1.86 and Playabets (-16.5) 1.90
