Argentina vs New Zealand
Argentina plays host to the All Blacks in Mendoza in these teams opening round match. The home team will be determined to improve on their last place showing from the previous years competition. The All Blacks will want a repeat performance of the last year as they were crowned champions. The Pumas have Michael Cheika the former Wallabies boss as their Coach which will be a massive advantage as there are not too many people that know the All Blacks as well as him. The visitors will be not be taking the home team lightly as they have lost two of the last six matches against them.
TIP: The All Blacks selectors have made some interesting calls in this match as they are starting with Dan Coles at hooker and Damian McKenzie at flyhalf although the latter was dominated in the recent Super Rugby final by Richie Mo’unga. The Pumas have given a start the Newcastle winger Mateo Carreras after he impressed in the Gallagher Premiership with his speed and brilliant side stepping even in the smallest of spaces. The bookies have New Zealand as favourites but I’m tipping Argentina for the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 2.55, Gbets 2.55 and Hollywoodbets 2.50
HEAD TO HEAD STATS

- Argentina have not beaten the All Blacks on their home soil.

Argentina were beaten 52-29 by Scotland in their last match while the All Blacks drew 25-25 with England in their last match.
PREDICTION
The All Blacks are without their kingpin lineout pair of Sam Whitelock and Brodie Retallick and it will be interesting to see if the Pumas target the visitor’s lineout. The Pumas have selected Santiago Carreras and will be hoping that he can use his speed to disrupt the All Blacks. The home team will be looking to keep the game tight as this is their best opportunity to win this match. New Zealand on the other hand will be looking for a fast paced open game as this suits their style of play. The non selection of a few All Blacks stars is the reason I predict a home won by 3 points
