10-03-2023 Daily Predictions Super Rugby Rebels Vs Waratahs

Rebels vs Waratahs

The Rebels play their second successive match at home when they host the Waratahs in this all Aussie clash. The home team are winless so far and will be determined to end their win drought in this match. The Waratahs bounced back from their first round loss to the Brumbies in style by thrashing the Fijian Drua. They will be hoping for a similar performance against a Rebels team who came within a whisker of making one of the greatest comebacks in their last match. The home team trailed 24-7 at halftime against the Hurricanes before eventually losing 39-33 although they were assisted after a player was sent off for the opposition.

TIP: The Rebels have followed a similar pattern in both their previous matches of kicking away possession and backing their defence but this tactic has not borne fruit. They will hopefully have learnt that keeping the ball in hand is the better option as they looked great in the second half of the last match. The Waratahs will also be looking for a better start as they trailed the Drua at halftime in the last match. The bookies have the Waratahs as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.50, Gbets 1.48 and Hollywoodbets 1.51

Rebels vs Waratahs

  • The Waratahs have won three of the last five matches against the Rebels.
  • The Rebels have only won two of their last eight home matches against the Waratahs.

Latest results for both teams

The Rebels lost 39-33 to the Hurricanes in their last match while the Waratahs beat the Fijian Drua 46-17 in their last match.

The Rebels welcome back their player of the season from last year in Cabous Eloff. The try scoring prop comes straight into the starting XV and they will be looking to him to get them over the advantage line especially in the close exchanges. The Waratahs attack has not looked at its best in the opening two rounds mainly due to their all Wallaby midfield combo of Izaia Perese and Lalakai Foketi not really hitting their straps. This could be the game where they find form and if they do then the Waratahs will win. I am backing a tight win for the visitors by five points.
