11-02-2023 Daily Predictions Six Nations Championship Scotland vs Wales

Scotland vs Wales

Scotland welcomes Wales to Murrayfield for this match in the Six Nations. Both teams come into the game with contrasting emotions as the home team will be high on confidence after beating England in the first round while the visitors slumped to a 34-10 home loss to Ireland. Scotland will be desperate to avoid the pattern of previous seasons where they struggled to string together wins over consecutive matches. Wales coach Warren Gatland has showed no mercy after the loss by axing a number of ageing stars including Alun Wyn Jones and Justin Tipuric. He has gone with youth to turn his turn team’s fortunes around.

TIP: Scotland will be quietly confident of their chances in the tournament especially if they can get the win in this match. Their team is mainly made up of Edinburgh and Glasgow players and both these sides have been in prolific form in the URC. Wales will need to be much better in defence if they are to be competitive up until the final whistle. They will also need to be more clinical in attack and finish of their possession. The bookies have Scotland as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.40, Gbets 1.40 and Hollywoodbets 1.41

Scotland vs Wales

  • Wales have won five of the last six matches against Scotland.
  • Scotland have only won one of their last seven home matches against Wales.

Latest results for both teams

Scotland beat England 29-23 in their last match while Wales lost 34-10 to Ireland in their last match.

The Scottish team has always looked great on paper but the reintroduction of Finn Russell has transformed their attack and they have among the best backlines in the competition led by the monster wing Duhan van der Merwe. He scored one of the greatest ever tries in the last match and Wales will need to stop him before he gets up a head of steam. Wales also have some dangerous players in their team and it will be up to Dan Biggar to try and launch his backline although they do not possess the pace of the Scottish players. The match will be decided in the forwards and the home team seems to have the edge in this department. We are predicting a Scotland win by 5 points.
