Lions vs Cardiff
This is the first ever meeting between these sides in a fixture that was due to take place months ago but was postponed due to Covid. The home team lost their last match 21-13 against Leinster but gave an excellent account of themselves. Cardiff were thumped 48-12 by Ulster in their last match and will be keen to bounce back with a much improved performance. Cardiff are in 13th position on the log while the Lions are in 14th position. Cardiff are ten points behind the playoffs positions but have an incredible five games in hand over the eight placed team.
TIP: The Lions have looked disorganized this season with various players being tried in the number 10 jersey but they will be hoping that Jordan Hendrikse is the answer to their problems. He was in great form before a serious injury and it will be interesting to see that type of form he is in. Cardiff are a team that like to run the ball but they will need their forwards to lay the platform. The bookies have the Lions as favourites but I tip Cardiff for the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 3.10, Playabets 2.80 and Sunbet 3.10.
HEAD TO HEAD STATS
Lions vs Cardiff
- This is the first ever meeting between these sides.
Latest results for both teams
The Lions lost their last match 21-13 to Leinster while Cardiff lost 48-12 to Ulster in their last match.
PREDICTION
The Lions biggest weapon is their scrum and this is an area that they will certainly have the advantage. They need to use this platform to attack from with Jordan Hendrikse holding the key. If he can ignite his backline then the Lions will win. Cardiff will look to their superb attacking players like Rey Lee-Lo and Matthew Morgan to take on the Lions defence that has not been at its best. If the Lions get an early lead it will be very difficult for Cardiff to play catch up especially with the altitude factor. I am predicting the more experienced Cardiff team to win by 3 points.

Predictions and Odds in details
Cardiff will need to make sure that their maul defence is excellent as the Lions will test them in this phase of the game. The players that will carry the most responsibility for the visitors will be their front row and if they can gain parity at least in the scrums then they can cause an upset. There are great odds on the Cardiff upset win but if you are looking for a safety bet then I suggest the away team on the handicap. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-5.5) 1.90, Sunbet (-5.5) 1.88 and Playabets (-5.5) 1.87
