14-10-2022 Daily Predictions United Rugby Championship Connacht vs Leinster

Connacht vs Leinster

Connacht had a disastrous start to their season with three defeats in their opening three matches but in defence of them all these matches were against strong teams and more importantly they were all on the road. They claimed their first win of the season in style as they beat Munster 20-11 in Galway to delight their home fans. Leinster have had a perfect start to the season with four bonus point wins. The last of these wins came against the Sharks as they easily beat the South African side 54-34.

TIP: Leinster have dominated this fixture in recent years winning nine of the last ten. Connacht will be desperate to gain their first win over Leinster since the 2018 season. The visitors have rested captain Jonny Sexton for this match but have recalled Irish internationals Josh van der Flier and Tadhg Furlong for this match. This will be Furlong’s first start of the season. The bookies have Leinster as favourites and I am also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 1.22, Playabets 1.25 and Sunbet 1.25

PREDICTION

The Connacht team showed a lot of heart in their last match against Munster and will once again need their defence to be in top form. Leinster were in brilliant attacking form in the last match with Garry Ringrose in particular being in sparkling form after coming on early as a replacement. The Leinster team certainly has the advantage in the forwards pack therefore the home team will be looking to avoid too many set pieces. Connacht will be looking to their experienced wingers to attack the young wingers on the Leinster team especially in the aerial contests. We are expecting Leinster to win by 6 points.
