Wellington vs Hawkes Bay
Wellington will have revenge on their minds when they take on Hawkes Bay in this semi-final clash. Two weeks ago the home side lost the Ranfurly Shield after conceding a try in the dying moments of the match. That loss remains their only defeat this season although they have started to show chinks in the armor in recent weeks. Wellington were fortunate to come away with a 32-28 win in the quarter final against Waikato after throwing away a big lead. Hawkes Bay are the comeback kings and in the quarter final they came from 28-12 down to score 26 unanswered points and win 38-28.
TIP: Wellington have started with pretty much the same team throughout the season but the last two matches has seen the return of All Black legend Julian Savea. The veteran has looked off the pace and they will be hoping try scoring machine Los Filipo is fit for this match. Hawkes Bay will know that they cannot continuing giving the opposition big leads as the bubble will eventually burst. They will need to start better if they are to cause an upset. The bookies have Wellington as favorites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.37, Gbets 1.37 and Hollywoodbets 1.37

Latest results for both teams
Wellington beat Waikato 32-28 in their last match while Hawkes Bay beat Bay of Plenty 38-28 in their last match.
Wellington will be looking for another fast start as that has been the norm for them this season. They will also be looking for more from their bench as the replacements were very poor in the last match. Hawkes Bay have looked impressive in the latter half of the season with their off-loading game being very difficult to stop. They have been expertly led around the field by Lincoln Mcclutchie and former All Black nine Brad Weber. Their halfback combination is the reason for the resurgence and the home team will do well to stop them from getting time on the ball. We are predicting Wellington to win by more than 10 points.
