15-09-2023 Daily Predictions Rugby World Cup 2023 New Zealand vs Namibia

New Zealand vs Namibia

New Zealand take on Namibia in this second round match of Group A in the Rugby World Cup. The All Blacks will be smarting after they suffered their first ever pool game loss when they went down to France in the opening match. Namibia were competitive in their match until the last 20 minutes when the Italians ran riot to win 52-8.

The Welwitschias can expect an all-mighty backlash from the All Blacks as they have shown their intention by selecting a strong lineup against the African minnows. Namibia will do well to slow the game down or else they will be facing a cricket score.

TIP: NZ have made 12 changes for this match but surprisingly have selected veterans Sam Whitelock and Brodie Retallick which shows their intention. The All Blacks have the likes of Richie Mounga, Aaron Smith and Rieko Ioane on the bench so the Namibians can expect a barrage of attacks for the full 80 minutes. Namibia have made three changes for this match with one of them positional, Divan Rossouw moving from fullback to wing. The bookies have the All Blacks as favorites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.01, Gbets 1.01 and Hollywoodbets 1.01

HEAD-TO-HEAD STATS

New Zealand vs Namibia

  • New Zealand have won the previous two matches against Namibia.
  • Both victories were by more than 44 point margins.

Latest results for both teams

New Zealand lost to France 27-13 in their last match while Namibia lost 52-8 to Italy in their tournament opener.

PREDICTION

NZ have gone for power on the wings and have selected Caleb Clark and Leicester Fainga’anuku, both players that have amazing post contact metres with their carries. Namibia will need to fix their lineout and scrum woes otherwise they will be chasing shadows in the match. They were competitive up to 60th minute in the last match and will need to keep pace for the full 80 minutes as the All Blacks are at their most lethal in the last quarter. The selection of Damian Mckenzie at flyhalf and Cam Roigard at nine means that they will be looking to play a fast paced running game. I am predicting a NZ win by 75 points.
