France vs South Africa
Hosts France take on the defending champions South Africa at the Stade de France in the last of the quarter finals. Both teams have been in great form during the pool stages although the Springboks did suffer a narrow 13-8 loss to Ireland. The big news for Les Bleus is that Captain Anton Dupont has been declared fit for the match after suffering a broken cheekbone in the match against Namibia. It is a massive risk to play him so soon after the injury but it is last chance saloon for the French. This is the most talented squad the hosts have ever had so they willing to take the risk.
TIP: Dupont coming into the starting XV is the only change to the team that thrashed Italy in the last match. The Springboks on the other hand have made a raft of changes with the big talking point being the selection of the halfbacks Manie Libbok and Cobus Reinach. The management team have resisted the temptation of rushing back Handre Pollard despite the often wayward goal kicking of Libbok. The Boks will be looking to attack the French from the first whistle to silence the home crowd. The bookies have France as favorites but I’m tipping the Springboks for the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 2.20, Gbets 2.25 and Hollywoodbets 2.20

PREDICTION
France were on a seven match losing streak against the Springboks before breaking that streak the last time they met. They will be confident of repeating the feat in front on a partisan home ground although the three-time champions will not be overawed by the occasion. The halfback selection of the Boks suggest that they will be looking to play an attacking game which could catch the French off guard. The hosts will be looking to the likes of Jonathan Danty and Gregory Alldritt to them over the advantage line against arguably the best defensive side in the world. I am predicting a Springbok win by 9 points.
