16-04-2022 Daily Predictions Super Rugby Pacific Force Vs Waratahs

Force vs Waratahs

The Force will be desperately seeking a victory after losing their last two matches and now have a record of five losses and only two wins. The Waratahs on the other hand have won their last two matches and have got four wins in their last five matches. The return of Wallabies skipper to the Waratahs is a major boost and he scored on his first match back in Australia. After a couple of dreadful years the Waratahs are starting to get back to the form that saw them win their first Super Rugby title.

TIP: The Force have built their success last season on a possession based game plan with a resolute defence but have moved away from that this season and are being punished for it. They seem to lack direction in attack relying on Manasa Mataele too much. They are spreading the ball out to the wings too quickly and expecting them to gain the hard yards. The Force backrow need to step up in this game if they are to win. The bookies have the Waratahs as favourites and I also tip them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 1.68 Playabets 1.65 and Sunbet 1.67

PREDICTION

The biggest danger that the Force will encounter in this match comes in the midfield threat of the Waratahs. The all Wallaby combination of Izaia Perese and Lalakai Foketi have been a big part of the Waratahs resurgence this season with Perese in particular almost impossible to stop. The visitors have an excellent backrow and all three players are super-fast so the Force defence needs to be alert especially around the fringes of the ruck. The Force must look to pressure young Tahs flyhalf Tane Edmed and stop him from launching their dangerous backs. I am predicting a Waratahs win by 8 points.

Predictions and Odds in details

The Force when playing at their best use the rolling maul to great effect and this will be the best chance to try and fix their maul. The experienced players like Jeremy Thrush and Kyle Godwin need to step up and guide the younger players in this crucial match. The Waratahs if allowed quick ball from the rucks will be too strong. There are only decent odds on the Waratahs win therefore we suggest the away team on the handicap for better returns. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-2.5) 1.90, Sunbet (-2.5) 1.87 and Playabets (-2.5) 1.86
