Australia take on the world champions South Africa in Perth in this second round encounter in the Rugby Championships. The home side were smashed 33-7 last week and will be looking to regain some pride this time round. The Springboks have made the home sides task much easier as they have made 10 changes to the team. They have selected an inexperienced front row and a halfback pairing with just a handful of caps between them. This is likely to give the Wallabies some confidence as they were dominated in all aspects of the game in the last match. The home side have also made a raft of changes which makes them stronger this week.
TIP: The Wallabies could actually have the advantage in the scrums in the first half although the Springboks have a world class front row on the bench in the event they are struggling. The home side looked out of sorts in the first game and will be hoping the selection of Nic White brings more structure to the team. South Africa will be keenly following Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Morne van den Berg as they are paired for the first time in a test match. PREDICTION
The Wallabies strangely moved away from their DNA of running rugby and adopted a kicking gameplan which backfired spectacularly. It will be interesting if they continue with kicking as the Springboks have a deadly back three of Kolbe, Fassi and Mapimpi. White is known for his excellent kicking game which suggests they will continue kicking away ball. This may be a good strategy on the day as rain is predicted for the match. The Springboks have taken a big risk with the number of changes but the replacements will win the game for them in the last quarter. I predict an away win by 15 points.
