17-09-2021 Daily Prediction Rugby Championship Argentina vs South Africa

Argentina vs South Africa

The Rugby Championship is going down to the wire this year with all four teams still in with a chance of clinching the title. Argentina plays host to the Springboks in this match with the loser being eliminated as a title contender. The home team will be desperate to bounce back with a win after an embarrassing 53-3 loss to NZ while the visitors will be looking to build on their 24-8 win over the Wallabies. Both teams have kept changes to a minimum for this encounter.

TIP: The Pumas are always dangerous but even more so after a heavy defeat. The Springboks can expect a barrage of attacks from the first whistle. The visitors will not deviate from their game plan with is very forward dominated and the Pumas will need to match them in the pack if they are to have any chance of causing an upset. The bookies have the Springboks as favourites and I am also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 1.37, Playabets 1.40 and Sunbet 1.38

Argentina vs South Africa

  • South Africa have won the last four matches between these sides.
  • Argentina have only won one of the last eight matches between the sides.

Latest results for both teams

Argentina lost their last match 53-3 to NZ while South Africa beat Australia 24-8 in their last match.

There are a number of intriguing match ups but none more so than Emiliano Boffelli up against try scoring machine Makazole Mapimpi. Both men are great under the high ball and they will need to be at their best as there will be plenty of up and unders coming their way. The Springboks have the advantage at scrum and lineout time therefore the Pumas will need to play a fast paced game and avoid too many set pieces. South Africa have too much firepower in the forwards therefore I am predicting a win for the visitors by ten points
