Bulls vs Stormers
The Bulls will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome the Stormers to fortress Loftus Versfeld. The home team are coming off consecutive losses and have struggled this season in both the URC and in the Champions Cup. They will have a score to settle with the old enemy after they lost the final last season to the men from the Cape. The Stormers will not be too concerned about playing away from home as they showed in their last match when they trampled the Sharks 46-19 in Durban. Despite the Bulls not having a great season their record at Loftus is still exceptional as they have won seven consecutive games at home.
TIP: The Stormers are missing a number of key players including skipper Steven Kitshoff who are all on resting period following the Springbok player protocols. The Bulls will look to take advantage of this although the visitors have excellent players replacing the regulars. The Stormers front row had a field day against the Sharks in the last match and will no doubt be attacking the Bulls scrum, which isn’t the strongest. The bookies have the Bulls as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.55, Gbets 1.53 and Hollywoodbets 1.55
HEAD TO HEAD STATS
Bulls vs Stormers
- The Sharks have won four of the last five matches between the sides.
- The Lions have lost their last four home matches against the Sharks.
Latest results for both teams
The Lions lost 43-24 to Connacht in their last match while the Sharks lost 46-19 to the Stormers in their last match.
The Bulls, so famous for their physicality over the years have not been dominant in the forwards and as a result the backline have not had good ball to work with. If the Bulls forwards can impose themselves then their dangerous backline can show their skill. The Stormers have no such problem as their general Mannie Libbok is showing why he is being touted as the next Springbok flyhalf. His attacking skills are second to none and he is always looking to launch his outside backs like Suleiman Hartzenberg and Seabelo Senatla. If the Bulls can match or over power the Stormers pack then we predict a home win by six points.
