Cheetahs vs Pumas
In a repeat of last year’s semifinal, the Cheetahs play host to the Pumas in Bloemfontein. The home side will no doubt be looking for revenge and will feel confident as they easily beat the Pumas away from home three weeks ago.
The Cheetahs were mighty impressive in their semi when they took apart a URC laden Bulls team 39-10 while the Pumas were also excellent in their 26-20 win away to the Sharks. Both teams play a similar style of game, relying heavily on their rolling mauls therefore discipline will play a huge part in this match.
TIP: The Cheetahs brought back Ruan Pienaar for the last match despite the excellent showing of Siya Masuka in the previous match. The selection proved to be a masterstroke with the veteran Springbok putting in a man of the match performance. The Pumas have showed continuity in selection and Coach Jimmy Stonehouse will in all probability select the same squad that have won the last two matches. The bookies have the Cheetahs as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.35., Gbets 1.33 and Hollywoodbets 1.35

PREDICTION
The Cheetahs and the Pumas went through a slump mid-season but have regained their form in the nick of time for the playoffs. The home team have beaten the Bulls over consecutive weekends so they are the favourites coming into this match. The visitors will be no pushovers as they have beaten the Griquas and Sharks on the road in the last two matches. The Cheetahs have the best rolling maul in the competition and the pressure will be on the Pumas to find a way to defend the maul. Both teams rely on a kick and chase game so it will be interesting to see which team can defend better as that team will come out on top. The stronger bench of the Cheetahs make me predict a home win by 6 points.
