25-02-2021 Daily Predictions Super Rugby Pacific Waratahs Vs Reds

Waratahs vs Reds

The Waratahs won their first match in over a year when they beat the Fijian Drua and will be full of confidence coming into this match. The Reds are also in good nick having easily disposed of the Rebels in the first match. The home team will look to continue with their winning ways but that won’t be easy against a Reds team laden with Wallabies. The Reds will look to dominate up front with their powerhouse prop Taniela Tupou leading the way.

TIP: The Waratahs were very weak amongst the forwards last season but have improved immensely during the season break. They will be led by their inspirational captain Jake Gordon and he epitomizes the fighting spirt of this Waratahs team. The home team will look to run the ball and will want to avoid too many set pieces. The bookies have the Reds as favourites but I tip the Waratahs on the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 3.20, Playabets 3.10 and Sunbet 2.85

Waratahs vs Reds

  • The Reds have won three of the last five matches against the Waratahs.
  • The Waratahs have won six of their last seven home matches against the Reds.
  • The Reds won the last match between the sides 43-14.

Latest results for both teams

The Waratahs won their last match 40-10 against the Fijian Drua while the Reds won their last match 23-5 against the Rebels.

PREDICTION

The Reds are strong in the forwards but they also have an incredible dangerous backline. They have Wallabies Jordan Petaia and Filipo Daugunu on the wings and if they are given any space they will make the Waratahs pay. If James O’Connor can ignite the potent backline then they will win this match. The home team has the human wrecking ball that is Izaia Perese. He always beats the first tackler and he needs a great game for the Waratahs to have a chance. I’m backing the home team for the upset win by two points.

Predictions and Odds in details

The Reds seem to have the edge in most departments but the Waratahs have the better midfield combination. The all Wallaby pairing of Perese and Lalakai Foketi will need to be at their attacking best to get them over the advantage line. If they can break tackles and get their offloading game going then they could give the Reds problems. There are excellent odds on the Waratahs upset win but if you looking for a safety bet then I suggest the home team on the handicap. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (+5.5) 1.90, Sunbet (+5.5) 1.88 and Playabets (+5.5) 1.90
