25/05 Daily Predictions European Champions Cup Leinster vs Toulouse

Leinster vs Toulouse

All roads lead to the Tottenham Stadium in London as Leinster takes on Toulouse in the Champions Cup final. The two most successful clubs in the competition’s history meet with the French side having won the title five times while the Irish giants have won it four times. Leinster will be desperate to win the title after losing the last two finals against another French team, La Rochelle. They put that ghost to rest in the quarter finals as they smashed the defending champions. Toulouse pose a similar threat with their massive pack and deadly backs led by Anton Dupont.

TIP: Leinster have only own two of their last five matches although they selected a second-string team in all those losses. It is never good to lose so many matches so close to a final so the decision to send weakened teams could backfire again. The Toulouse players will all be refreshed for this match as none of the expected XV played in their win over Montpellier last weekend. The match will be decided in the forwards and I feel Toulouse have the edge in this area. The bookies have Leinster as favorites but I’m tipping Toulouse for the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Tictacbets 1.80, SoccerShop 1.80 and Bettabets 1.80

Leinster vs Toulouse

  • Leinster have won the last four matches between these sides.
  • The last time Toulouse beat Leinster was in 2019.

Latest results for both teams

Leinster lost 23-21 in their last match while Toulouse beat Montpellier 29-22 in their last match.

The undoubted highlight of the match will be arguably the two best scrumhalf’s in world rugby going head to head when Dupont comes up against Jamison Gibson-Park. The latter has been in sublime form and has sparked the victories for his team in the knockout matches of this competition. Toulouse will be well aware that they will need to stay close to Leinster on the scoreboard as the Irish side tend to drop off in the second half as was evident in their semi-final against the Saints. The dangerous backline of the French side with the likes of Blair Kinghorn and Pita Ahki will prove the difference in the sides. I am predicting a Toulouse win by 4 points.
