25/05 Daily Predictions Super Rugby Moana Vs Waratahs

Moana vs Waratahs

Moana welcome the struggling Waratahs to the Go Media Stadium for this penultimate round match in the Super Rugby Pacific. Both teams have a mathematical chance of making the playoffs but they will need to win their remaining two matches and hoping a string of other results go their way which is highly unlikely. Moana gave an excellent account of themselves in the last match as they eventually went down 32-24 to the Hurricanes. The Waratahs on the other hand were woeful in their 27-7 loss to the Force last time out as their ball handling was atrocious.

TIP: Moana have struggled to string two good performances together this season but will be looking to build on their showing in the last match. They were unlucky to lose Lotu Inisi to injury during the season as his return has certainly bolstered the team. The Waratahs have been decimated in their front row with injuries and are now down to their fourth-choice hooker. It is also their attack that has no shape but the selection of Tane Edmed should help in this regard. The bookies have Moana as favorites but I’m tipping the Waratahs for the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Tictacbets 2.30, SoccerShop 2.30 and Bettabets 2.30

Moana vs Waratahs

  • These teams have met twice before with each side winning once.
  • The away team on the day has won the previous two matches between the sides.

Latest results for both teams

The Hurricanes beat Moana 32-24 in their last match while the Waratahs were beaten 27-7 in their last match.

Both teams have shown the tendency to run the ball at every oppourtunity but a combination of poor handling and lack of cohesion has often let them down. The Waratahs have the worst conversion rate of all teams in the opposition 22 which explains their last position on the log. They have selected Izaia Perese on the wing in the hope that he can use his tackle busting skills to give them go forward. Moana will be targeting the scrums as the Waratahs were blown away in this area in the last match. The desperation of the Waratahs will see them to victory by 6 points.
