25-09-2022 Daily Rugby Predictions Gallagher Premiership Exeter Chiefs vs Harlequins

Exeter vs Harlequins

Exeter have made an excellent start to the new season with two wins in their first two matches while Harlequins have won one and lost one match. The home team are looking to improve on their performance of last season when they struggled and failed to make the semi-finals. The visitors on the other hand lost narrowly to a full strength Saracens team last week, a result that was encouraging as they were missing a number of first team regulars. They will be bolstered by the return of Marcus Smith for this match.

TIP: Exeter also welcome back England international Henry Slade for this match and he will provide the creativity in the midfield. The home side won their opening two matches with their powerful forwards and looked more like the Chiefs side from two seasons ago when they were unstoppable in the forwards. The bookies have the Chiefs as favourites but I’m tipping Harlequins for the upset win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 3.60, Playabets 3.55 and Sunbet 3.58

HEAD TO HEAD STATS

Exeter vs Harlequins

  • The Chiefs have won three of the last five matches against Harlequins.
  • Harlequins have won on two of their last four visits to Exeter

Latest results for both teams

Exeter beat Worcester 36-21 in their last match while Harlequins lost 30-27 to Saracens in their last match.

PREDICTION

The match will see teams with contrasting styles clash as Exeter will  look to dominate the set pieces while Quins love to run the ball from any were on the park. Both teams have deadly finishers in the backline with Quins fullback Tyrone Green ready to attack if given any space while the Chiefs have Jack Nowell who can cause damage in the smallest of spaces. Exeter seem to have the edge in the loose forwards as the visitors have a very inexperienced back row. I am predicting Quins to win the match by 4 points.
