26-02-2023 Daily Predictions Six Nations Championship France vs Scotland

France vs Scotland

At the start of the this year’s competition, France the defending champions were being touted as favourites again while many thought Scotland will be fighting Italy for the wooden spoon but how different things have turned out. The home sides hopes of defending their title is hanging by a threat while a win for the visitors will see them play Ireland in a few weeks in a title decider. The resurgence of the Scottish team is mainly down to their mercurial number 10, Finn Russell. Coach Gregor Townsend must be smiling from ear to ear after recalling him to the side. The French on the other hand are missing some key personnel and it is hurting them very badly across the park.

TIP: The French have had a tough start in the competition and are the only team yet to play a match at home. They will be hoping that the full house at the Stade de France can inspire them to victory over a Scottish side that they have struggled against in recent years. The visitors will be confident of pulling off another upset as they have won three of the last five matches against the French. The bookies have France as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Betway 1.35, Gbets 1.35 and Hollywoodbets 1.33

France vs Scotland

  • Scotland have won three of the last five matches between the sides.
  • The home side has lost the last three matches between the sides.

Latest results for both teams

France lost 32-19 to Ireland in the last match while Scotland beat Wales 35-7 in their last match.

The French team will again be led by arguably the best player in the modern game, Anton Dupont who has shown that his defensive skills are as good as his attacking game. The home team has lacked the physicality that has epitomized their game in recent years and if they fail to assert their forward dominance over Scotland, then we could see an upset. The visitors have shown a refreshing approach to their game where Russell is willing to launch attacks from deep within their half. They also have the brilliant Duhan van der Merwe who has been beating defenders for fun. The French will bounce back in front of their fans and I’m predicting a home win by 11 points.
