26-12-2021 Daily Predictions Gallagher Premiership Bristol Bears vs Leicester Tigers

Bristol Bears vs Leicester Tigers

Bristol will be hoping for an upturn in their fortunes as they find themselves languishing in second last position. This is a far cry from last season when they finished top of the log after the league part of the season. Leicester are having their best ever start to a season winning their first nine matches and are sitting pretty at the top of the table. They won last week against Connacht and showed their depth in that match by resting their three star players, George Ford, Ellis Genge and Nemani Nadolo. The Bears have their star player Semi Radradra back and will look to him to kick start their season.

TIP: The Tigers have built their success this season on a resolute defence and a dominant forward pack. They will again look to stamp their authority over a Bears pack that has struggled all season. The Bears problems were further compounded by the fact that injuries to their key players have disrupted creativity in their team. They have lacked cohesion in their attack and for a team that prides itself on attack it has stymied their season. The bookies have the Tigers as favourites and I’m also tipping them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows:  Worldsportsbetting 1.65, Playabets 1.67 and Sunbet 1.61

PREDICTION

The Tigers are back to full strength for this match with their international stars back. Their return has seen England star Freddie Steward return to his favoured fullback position. The contest between him and Charles Piutau will be one of the highlights of the match. Bristol will need to get the ball as much as possible to Radradra who will be the key man for him. They missed his pace and creativity in midfield but it won’t be easy for him against a Tigers defence which is the best in the league. The Tigers will be too strong up front and they will win by 10 points.

Predictions and Odds in details

The Tigers have the best rolling maul in the league and no doubt they will be testing the Bears at lineout time. The Bears best chance of victory is to play a high tempo games with not many set pieces. The Tigers certainly have the stronger scrum as well and will be scrumming for penalties. Kyle Sinckler will need to be at his best to keep the Tigers scrum at bay. There are decent returns on the Tigers outright win but the value bet is the Tigers on the handicap. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-3.5) 1.90, Sunbet (-1.5) 1.83 and Playabets (-3.5) 1.83
