04/04/2023: Daily Predictions: English Premier League: Leicester City vs Aston Villa

Relegation candidates Leicester City will be desperate to record some points at this point of the season against the confident Aston Villa side when they host them at the King Power Stadium.

Form Guide

Leicester’s form recently has been very concerning. Unless they can pick things up quickly, they probably will be relegated at the current rate. They lost their last game 2-1 against Crystal Palace and have lost seven out of their last eight games in all competitions.

Among these defeats included a 2-1 loss against Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round. Some will say though that the Cup defeat could have been a good thing as the club needs to focus on fighting relegation at this point over anything else.

The Foxes are in the relegation zone. They are 18th with 25 points after 28 games. They are one point behind 17th place Everton. A win in this game could see them exit the drop zone.

Villa are having a fairly good season by their standards and are ninth with 41 points after 28 games. They have won four out of their last five league games, which most recently included an impressive 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Latest Leicester City results

The Foxes lost their last game 2-1 against Crystal Palace. Their form is dreadful at the moment as they have lost six out of their last seven games in all competitions. The last time that the King Power Stadium based club claimed victory was when they routed Tottenham 4-1 on the 12th February. If Leicester do not pick up things quickly, they probably will be relegated. Every point from here on for them will be vital to boost their chances of survival and to earn them another season of Premier League football next term.

Latest Aston Villa results

Villa have been fairly impressive this season and will be targeting a win against wounded Leicester. They also enter this game on a high, having beaten Chelsea 2-0 in their last match last weekend. The Midlands side have won four out of their last five games and the last time that they lost was when Arsenal beat them 4-2 on 18th February.

Villa will sense the weaknesses in the Leicester side and will go on to record a comfortable 2-0 win.

Both teams to score-no-Playabets have this bet at 2.09.

Anytime Goal Scorers

Aston Villa- Ollie Watkins- The Englishman is Villa’s top scorer this season with nine goals. If the Leicester defence makes any silly mistakes as has often been the case this season, he will punish them.

Leicester- James Maddison- The midfielder is the creative fulcrum of the Foxes side and has scored nine times this season. If there is a player that can save the Foxes from the drop, it is him.
