Boylesports

Boylesports was started way back in 1982 in Ireland and has since grown throughout the UK and is Ireland’s biggest bookmaker. The first impression I got when I entered the site is that the interface looks fantastic and I would love to bet on this site. On further inspection I noticed the sport and league navigation at left is certainly designed towards Irish and UK sporting interests with football, horses and greyhounds near the top. The rest of the sports are found in A-Z Sports. The general user experience and speed of site was average and not a market leader. Boylesports Enterprise is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission

Withdrawal Options

There are a number of checks that are performed during payment processing to ensure that we are not facilitating fraudulent transactions and/or money laundering. Boylesports operate a source to source policy so any payments that a customer requests, must be returned to the source in which their deposit originated. Same Day Withdrawals is a BRAND NEW service to get your withdrawals back into your bank account faster than ever before. I know how frustrating it is to have to wait days for funds to reach your account so they have developed a new technology to improve your betting and gaming experience. It means that, for eligible withdrawals, any funds that you withdraw from your balance should reach your bank account in 2-12 hours, but usually it’s even faster than that

Overall deposit and withdrawal process

There is a multitude of ways to make payment and there seems to be no bad reviews on their deposit or withdrawal process but them not accepting the South African rand could be a snag as the exchange rate is always changing. Personally I love the Same Day Withdrawal feature that they and hope it’s available to South African punters to. Like many international sites they don’t have a voucher system to top up your account and I feel this change is needed if they want to compete with local bookies

Customer Service at Boylesports

I tried to use their chat facility but was not permitted to do so until I registered with them which I don’t feel is very wise as I may have questions before joining Boylesports. Their chat service in only available during specific times and they don’t have a 24/7 dedicated service. Their digital footprint is well established on social network and there are complaints but nothing too serious. Telephonic assistance is only available in Ireland and this is another thing that is unfair for the South African punter.

Registration and deposit process at Boylesports

The only way to get access to Boylesports full potential is by joining the bookmaker and opening an online player’s account. To register seems simple enough with a short 3 step and becoming a member will feel like a breeze.

The deposit process is also hassle free and bank transfers reflect instantly and unlike some other sites all deposits are free.

How does Boylesports operate in South Africa?

They are fairly new in South Africa and I feel they could struggle to gain a formidable share of the betting market. I say this because their site is clearly skewed to the European market and a big attraction for local punters id the Welcome Bonus and Boylesports don’t offer one. They have no coverage of our local PSL football league and this will disappoint locals. The majority of the promotions that they offer are for Horse and Greyhound racing which isn’t popular in South Africa. Other popular local sports like cricket and rugby are not well covered.

The home interface of Boylesports

The interface looks great but when I tried to navigate around the site I found the speed of the site to be slow. There are constant banners that pop up on the screen that lets the player know of other promotions that they can qualify for which I find really cool unfortunately the pops-up on the homepage is all about offers on racing and almost no promotions are related to sports betting. The plus point on their interface is that the betslip information is excellent and is clearly visible on the right of the screen

Welcome bonus and promotions

This is the most disappointing aspect of Boylesports as there is no welcome bonus. Their promotions are aimed at horse and greyhound racing whish are not huge markets in South Africa. The one really nice promotion they do have is the Accu5 which means that if you have 5 or more selections on your betslip and you are out one leg then you get a full refund on your original wager.

How to place your first bet

In order to place a bet you will need to complete the registration process and then deposit funds into your account. If you have placed a bet online before then the process is easy for any experienced punter. Don’t worry if you are new to sports betting this is all you have to do: Just find your sport, select your chosen market, and place your bets and as you make your selections your betslip on the right of the screen will show you all the selections that you have made and once you done you simply click Place Bet.

Sports Betting Experience

The entire process from registration to placing a bet is simple enough but they have not done a great job in catering for sports punters, their over indulgence in racing events feels like that they should be trying to appease all punters not just the ones that are into racing events. The live in play betting must rank as one of the best in terms of the markets that are available. They also have the Bet Builder feature on their site but like most sites it’s only available for football

Quality of Odds in comparison to other Betting Sites

The odds on offer from Boylesports are in line with their competitors and their football odds can compete with most other online bookies. I carried out quick odds comparison test for couple of football games and saw that Boylesports has same or better odds than some of well-established bookies. Their do not have large odds markets for other sports like cricket and rugby.

Betting Limits

The minimum bet is R1.70 while the limit on winnings on any bet is

€100000(R1 700 000).

Mobile version and Mobile app

From your mobile device, Boylesports offers a quick and well-organised experience.  Unlike the desktop version, when you tap a bet choice, you will be able to see that you have selected it with a darker button colour.  To access your bet slip, simply look to the top right corner of your device.  Tap ‘Bet’ once to bring up your bet slip, and ‘X’ to go back to your previous screen. The site sports a modern look with a new layout and a well-rounded structure. You can still enjoy features like live in play betting and cash out. Boylesports unfortunately does not have any specific offers if you download the app. The App is also on improvement on their desktop version and really they seem to have mastered the mobile betting market.

The Good about Boylesports

This is no doubt that Boylesports was started with the needs of the UK punter in mind but they should adapt the local markets. They have a decent sized sportsbook and their mobile version and mobile app is excellent and strangely faster than their desktop version. Their online reputation is excellent and I couldn’t find many negative reviews about them. Their Accu5 feature is innovative and definitely a market first for me.

The Bad about Boylesports

I don’t mean to go on but their policy of no Welcome bonus needs to be reviewed and they also need to take the needs of the local punter into account and offer more local sports. Their desktop version leaves a lot to be desired but luckily their mobile offerings are an improvement on the desktop version.

Summary

Their over emphasis on UK sports is not going to make them popular in South Africa and couple that with their poor bonus and promotions and it’s clear that they will struggle in South Africa unless their change things on their site. I think that you need to have a look at the site and decide for yourself especially if you a big horseracing punter.

I am very impressed with the site in terms of layout and look but very quickly my opinion changed as I tried navigating around the site. The site speed is sluggish but not too bad while their focus is primarily on football, horse and greyhound (dog) racing. They are one of the very few bookies who don’t offer a welcome bonus and their bonus offers are on horse and greyhound racing. I searched their site and saw that they don’t cover our local PSL football which is a big negative to them.
