Sharks vs Scarlets
This is the first ever meeting between these sides and was due to take place months ago but was postponed due to Covid. It is a historic occasion as this is the first match any of the overseas teams are playing in the URC in South Africa. The Sharks are currently in 8th place on the log with 26 points while the visitors are in 12th spot on 22 points. The Welsh team have however played one less match. Scarlets had an excellent win in their last match when they beat Glasgow and will want to continue with that great form.
TIP: The Sharks had a bye over the weekend but looked very good when they beat Benetton in their last match. The home team suffered a huge loss when regular skipper Lukhanyo Am decided to take up a short term contract in Japan. The team will now be captained by Springbok captain Siya Kolisi. The home team will feel that anything other than a win will be a disaster for them. The bookies have the Sharks as favourites and I also tip them for the win. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting 1.09, Playabets 1.08 and Sunbet 1.12.
HEAD TO HEAD STATS
Sharks vs Scarlets
- This is the first ever meeting between the sides.
Latest results for both teams
Sharks won their last match 29-7 against Benetton while Scarlets won their last match 35-10 against the Glasgow Warriors.
PREDICTION
The Sharks will no doubt be targeting the Scarlets in the pack as they have the bigger pack and also have the more powerful forwards. The home team boasts an all Springbok front row so they should have dominance in this area. The match will not be won only by being dominant in the forwards as the Sharks will need their potent backline to take advantage of all the ball they receive. It will be the duty of Curwin Bosch to link the backs and if he is successful then the Sharks will comfortably win this match. I am predicting the Sharks to win by 18 points.

Predictions and Odds in details
The Scarlets are a team that love to throw the ball around and they must look to employ this tactic against the big Sharks pack. The Sharks on the other hand will want to use their big forwards as much as possible to get them over the advantage line and lay the platform for their exciting backline players. There are poor odds on the Sharks win therefore we suggest the home team on the handicap for better returns. The best odds on this bet are as follows: Worldsportsbetting (-15.5) 1.90, Sunbet (-16.5) 1.92 and Playabets (-16.5) 1.92
Sports crazy fan that follows all major sport but the game with the oval ball is my real passion. Was an age level rugby coach and a huge supporter of the Springboks and diehard Liverpool man.
