Inter, Juventus, Atalanta and Napoli all failed to collect three points with the slump giving hope to the chasing pack who are also working to qualify for Europe next season. We take a look at the major talking points of the round.

Inter Milan throws a two-goal lead against Parma

Inter Milan threw a two-goal lead to be held by Parma to a 2-2 draw on Saturday. Matteo Darmian gave Inter the lead after 15 minutes, and Marcus Thuram doubled their advantage just before the break with a peculiar chipped finish.

However, Parma, who threatened Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer in the first half, pulled a goal back on the hour through halftime substitute Adrian Bernabe before Jacob Ondrejka levelled in the 69th minute following a brilliant solo run.

With the results, Inter have now failed to win in five of their last six away games in Serie A after winning their previous eight.

Napoli fails to capitalize on Inter’s slip

Napoli wasted a glorious chance to close the gap between them and Inter after being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna on Monday night. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s first-half goal was cancelled out by a moment of magic from the hosts’ Dan Ndoye.

With leaders Inter Milan only managing a draw at Parma on Saturday, Napoli had a chance to close on them, but they remained second with 65 points, three behind. Bologna are fourth on 57 points, just a single point behind Atalanta.

AS Roma and Juventus fight to a stalemate

AS Roma and Juventus played out a 1-1 draw in Serie A on Sunday as Roma’s Eldor Shomurodov cancelled out a first-half opener by Juve captain Manuel Locatelli.

Locatelli broke the deadlock for the visitors five minutes before halftime with a shot from outside the area and Roma substitute Shomurodov levelled soon after the break from a rebound, blasting the ball in off the crossbar from close range.

Juventus are fifth on 56 points after 31 games while Roma, unbeaten in the league since late December, sit seventh with 53 points and still hold realistic chances of qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in seven years.

However, Claudio Ranieri’s men still have to face leaders Inter Milan, third-placed Atalanta, Fiorentina and AC Milan after travelling to sixth-placed Lazio next weekend.
