Fairview Poly Selections
Race 1 – 1000m (Maiden Juvenile Plate)
SANDY’S PRINCESS should not be 50/1 in this race. You can write off her debut effort as she stood in the gates and gave up ten lengths. If she jumps on terms, she should run better. She gets the 4kg claim and, with 53.5kgs, is a dark horse, so a very small EW wager on the filly.

Race 2 – 1000m (Maiden Plate)
BELLA ATTRICE is not the stable elect here, but I think she represents value. She has fair form and has not finished too far back. She can win this race if her stable companion, BEST INTENTIONS, fluffs her lines.

Race 3 – 1300m (Open Maiden)
It is a weak open maiden race, so caution is advised when betting. It is the start of the Pick 6, so you should load up in the first leg. COLONEL GREEN runs with 54kgs and can be competitive in this field. With some luck in running, he can run into the money.

Race 4 – 1300m (Classified Stakes)
WIND SOCK has fair form and runs with 56kgs here. The gelding never runs too far back and, with some luck in running, can trouble the favourites. It is encouraging that Smanga Khumalo takes the rides, and the combination can run well.

Race 5 – 2000m (FM 66 Handicap)
JAM JAM ran against stronger last time and finished well in fifth. That race has been franked, and she can do well here with a drop in class. If she can confirm that last run, she should have no issues against her weaker rivals.

Race 6 – 1600m (FM 66 Handicap)
MEENERA is better weighted than the favourite, and if confirming her last run, should beat her. The six-year-old has a wide draw to contend with, but she can finish in the money with some luck in running. At 14/1, she represents excellent EW value.

Race 7 – 1000m (MR 96 Handicap)
PARIS LASS has won three of her last four races and is the one to beat here. She does carry a big mass of 59kgs but is a brave filly. She never seems to run a poor race, and with some luck, she can once again finish in the money.

Race 8 – 1200m (FM 70 Handicap)
DAWN OF GOLD has everything going for her in the lucky last. She carries just 53kgs, has a good draw and is in good form. If she gets lucky in running, she should finish in the placings. She represents excellent EW value, and there is no better way to start the weekend than having a decent strike on the filly. Let’s hope she can win and give us some ammunition for the weekend’s racing bets.
