Saturday’s horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with an eight-race program from the Turffontein Inside track. Racing begins at 12:20 and includes two competitive Pinnacle Stakes events. Race 1 – 1450m (Maiden Plate)
The card opens with a competitive maiden plate, so go wide in the Bipot. I like CHARIOT OF FIRE to run well. He produced a good debut run when finishing third. He will come on from that effort and is a leading contender here.

Race 2 – 1450m (Maiden Plate)
TIPPERARY finished second in both course and distance runs. She was caught late last time and with better luck, can finally shed her maiden tag.

CITY LIGHTS is a filly taking on males and will need some luck. In her favour is her good form and handy weight of 56.5kgs. If she gets lucky in running, she should finish in the money.

Race 4 – 2600m (Pinnacle Stakes)
It is a competitive Pinnacle, and go wide in the exotics. ZEUS is giving the rest of the field 8kgs, and that could be too much weight to give away. I like RAISEAHALLELUJAH to run well, especially with 51kgs. He has good form and will be running freely with virtually no weight.

Race 5 – 1800m (MR 86 Handicap)
CELTIC RUSH has good recent form, and is weighted to go close here. Carded to race with 55.5kgs, he should be competitive and run into the placings.

Race 6 – 1000m (Pinnacle Stakes)
The final featured race of the afternoon is a loaded race with plenty of winning chances. For that reason, go wide in the exotics to be safe. ANFIELD ROCKETS has finally shown a form return and is a massive runner. He has exceptional course and distance form, with three wins and a third in five races. With some luck, he should contest the finish.

Race 7 – 1450m (MR 95 Handicap)
CAPE LIGHTS stayed on at the finish in a Listed event last time. That form line has been franked. Muzi Yeni retains the ride, and he can saddle the mare into the money.

Race 8 – 1450m (MR 80 Handicap)
I searched for value in the lucky last and found THAMBI. Ignore his last start, and keep in mind he loves racing on this course. He has won twice in his last five starts. He has three wins and a third in five races over this course. Carded to race with 56.5kgs, he can finish in the money.
