Friday’s horse racing action is available from Gqeberha, with an eight-race program from the Fairview Turf track. Racing begins at 12:45 and includes a competitive Friendly City Stakes event in Race 6. Below are our South African horse racing tips, predictions and suggested bets for the day’s racing. Race 1 – 1100m (Maiden Plate)
The card opens with a work riders maiden, so no suggested bets from me. Keep an eye on the betting if you are going to have a wager, and please stake cautiously.

Race 2 – 1400m (MR 74 Handicap)
MY AMI BEACH takes a slight drop in class and can return to winning ways. She has not finished too far back in recent runs, and won well two races back. Carrying 59.5kgs, she should be competitive.

Race 3 – 1400m (Owners Association Plate)
MY BEST SHOT should win but represents no value at 7/10 in the betting. I like MISTER SPEAKER to run well and finish in the money. With some luck, he should be competitive.

Race 4 – 1600m (Classified Stakes)
NOTHINGELSEMATTERS has good recent form lines and will be competitive. The five-year-old has not finished too far behind the winners in his races. He should run well and finish in the placings.

Race 5 – 1000m (MR 90 Handicap)
This race is all about the special filly SPLICETHEMAINBRACE. She is unbeaten in five starts and should be too good for this field. She returns from a four-month break, so she may need this outing. Still, at 7/10 in the betting, she is a Pick 6 banker for many. Due to that restrictive price, I am trying to beat her. I am in the camp of FOREST SPY to run well. He is a good sort with top form, having won three of his last six starts. He should fill the exacta with the hot favourite.

Race 6 – 1800m (Friendly City Stakes)
What a race for the featured race on the card! It is a must-watch for all SA racing fans. There are two ways to bet this race: either you banker the Cape raider PACAYA, or you play to beat him in the exotics. He is the best weighted here and brings top Western Cape form. However, he is too short at 8/10 in the betting, but he could be a banker for many Pick 6’s and Jackpots.
He is facing some of the best Eastern Cape horses. CHERRY ANO, ZATARA MAGIC, FAIRY KNIGHT and JOY AND PEACE are top-quality horses. If PACAYA fluffs his lines, then you must include all in your exotics. For some value, I like JOY AND PEACE to give her male rivals a challenge. She has won five in a row and gets 2.5kgs from her male counterparts. With some luck in running, she can finish in the money at very generous EW odds for her quality.

Race 7 – 1200m (Pinnacle Stakes)
Trainer Alan Greef holds a strong hand here, and one of his horses should win this race. THREE ROCKS is the class horse in the race and will be a Pick 6 banker for many. She is 8/10 in the betting and will be a popular win double with PACAYA in the previous race. For EW value, I like the odds of GOCEKWITHLOVE. At 16/1 in the betting, she has the form to cause an upset. I think she will run into the placings despite not being the stable elect.
Suggested Bet – GOCEKWITHLOVE EW @ 16/1✅ EW Place
Race 8 – 1200m (FM 66 Handicap)
HOLLY’S VIEW is much better than her last two starts. She has been rested for 14 weeks and returns to racing. I believe she could spring an upset if she is fit and ready to race. She carries a top weight of 62kgs, but at massive EW odds, it won’t break the bank to have a small EW bet.
