Tuesday is a public holiday in South Africa and horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with an eight-race program from the Vaal Main track. Racing begins at 12:30 and includes a competitive MR 96 Handicap event in Race 5. Below are our South African horse racing today tips, predictions and suggested bets for the day’s racing. I like CHARIOT OF FIRE to run well. He produced a good debut run when finishing third, and followed up with a poor run but raced green. He will come on from that effort and is a leading contender here.

Race 3 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)
The opening leg of the Pick 6 and WINDS OF CHANGE is the proverbial banker for many, at 3/10 in the betting. For some EW value, I like PURSUIT OF FAME. His last three starts have been good, and racing with 57.5kgs, he represents top EW value at a massive price.

Race 4 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)
INTRO is better than her last start when she did not see out the 1450m. She has it all to do to beat her rivals here, but I think she can be competitive. The booking of Muzi Yeni in the saddle is a massive plus.

Race 5 – 1200m (MR 96 Handicap)
ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES has finally returned to form. He is a quality sprinter, once rated an MR 112 and can run well and show his class here. Carded to race with 54.5kgs, I expect another strong showing.

Race 6 – 1000m (MR 74 Handicap)
AXEL COLLINS has been racing against stronger and can run well here against weaker. His last race was five days ago, so if he is ready to run so soon, he represents the EW value.

EIGER SANCTION has won his last two starts with ease and plenty to spare. The four-year-old is in a good space and can notch up the hat trick.
