ICE CAP has consistent form since relocating to the Eastern Cape. She represents the EW value in the opener and, with luck in running, should fight out the finish.

KOHANA has shown improvement in each of his races. He will love the rise to the mile and will be a leading contender come the finish in this maiden race.

ANCHOR MAN’S last two starts have been good, and he is coming along well. If he continues his improvement, he should be a worthy EW prospect.

Race 4 – 1400m (Graduation Plate)
MONTELENA is the best-weighted runner in this race and should take the power a beating. If she does not fight the rider in the early stages, she will be running on at the finish.

Race 5 – 1200m (Betway Cradock Place Stakes)
It is the featured race on the card, and CRUISE CONTROL will be a Pick 6 banker for most. The five-year-old is the class horse in the field and should win. However, at 4/10 in the betting, he is too low. I searched for EW value and liked JEWEL CAT. The gelding is progressive and has won two of his last three starts. He is taking on much stronger and carries a handy mass of 54kgs. I think he can sneak a place.

Race 6 – 1600m (MR 80 Handicap)
TIRPITZ is back on his favoured grass surface and represents excellent EW value. He takes a drop in class, and despite carrying a top weight of 61.5kgs, he should run into the money.

Race 7 – 1600m (FM 92 Handicap)
KNOCKOUT is raiding from the Western Cape and should win this race. Instead of the 9/10 win bet, I prefer the EW value on the local runner, AS FATE HAS IT. She is in top form, with three wins in her last four races. If she jumps on terms, she can run into the placings.

Race 8 – 2000m (MR 86 Handicap)
It is time for the lucky last of the day, and I found exceptional EW value with HAROLD THE DUKE. His last race caught the eye as he ran against much stronger and finished three lengths behind in fifth place. He should finish in the money if he reproduces that effort in this field. Carded to race with 49.5kgs, I suggest you have a nice EW bet at generous odds.
