I searched for some nice EW value in this race and found CHRONICLESOFNANIA. The mare is well weighted and should love the mile. With luck in running, she can sneak into the money at big odds.

Race 5 – 1400m (MR 72 Handicap)
ABOUND won well last time when going to the front and setting a fast pace. Muzi Yeni could adopt the same tactics, and despite carrying a hefty mass of 62kgs, the four-year-old is a leading contender.

Race 6 – 1400m (Pinnacle Stakes)
LUNA HALO is the class filly in this race and is the horse to beat. She is special and has done brilliantly in her racing career. She has strong form lines, and despite carrying top weight, I expect a big run.

Race 7 – 1600m (Listed Stakes)
MY BEST SHOT is a progressive three-year-old colt who is developing into a top racehorse. He has impressive form and can complete a hat trick of wins.

Race 8 – 2000m (ALGOA CUP)
The big race of the card and the season, Gqeberha’s own Durban July, the ALGOA CUP. Unfortunately, due to heavy rains and flooding leading up to this event, the decision was made to switch the card to the Poly.
Many horses have winning chances; you must go wide in the exotics. JOY AND PEACE is the class horse in the field, but based on weight turnarounds, I searched for EW value. I love the massive odds on MOUNT ANDERSON. He was a shock winner last time, but if he reproduces that effort, he should run well again. He should not be 35/1 in the betting, so have a solid EW strike and let’s hope for the best.

Race 9 – 1200m (Pinnacle Stakes)
The lucky last on the card and CRUISE CONTROL should win going away. At 5/10 in the betting, he is too short for a single bet. You should take him in some multiples. For some EW value I prefer EVIES FIRST. She has good form, is running well and carries 59.5kgs. With some luck, she can run into the top three.
