Sunday’s horse racing action is available from the Western Cape, with a nine-race program from the Kenilworth track. Racing begins at 12:20 and includes the competitive Grade 2 – Cape Merchants event in Race 7. Below are our South African horse racing tips and suggested bets for the day’s racing. Race 1 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)
MASTER BOMBER has run two good races at Durbanville. He now runs at Kenilworth for the first time and if he takes to the track he should go well. He gets a pole draw, and I expect a strong showing.

Race 2 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)
OCOTILLO is having her peak run and should strip fitter. The filly has shown plenty of promising signs in her young career. She meets the right field to shed her maiden tag.

Race 3 – 1600m (Class 5)
OZARK did not show last time and was soundly beaten. Before that run, he won two of his previous three races. I am backing him to bounce back here and run into the money.

Race 4 – 1400m (Open Maiden)
LITTLE LEXI carries a low mass of 54kgs in this open maiden race. That low weight could prove the difference for the filly. I think she finally sheds her maiden in this race.

Race 5 – 1600m (Open Maiden)
After two encouraging runs, SCOTTISH LINKS ran poorly last time. He has been rested for five-weeks since that poor effort. Back on the course, he should be ready to go again, and carries a handy mass of 57.5kgs.
Suggested Bet – SCOTTISH LINKS EW @ 9/1✅ EW PLACE
Race 6 – 1600m (Class 3)
DAWN TILL DUSK is developing into a progressive three-year-old. I think he is still ahead of the handicapper and should run well. Carded to race with just 52.5kgs, he is my banker in my PA.

Race 7 – 1200m (Grade 2 – Cape Merchants)
Time for the featured race on the card and it is a massive field. The favorite starts at 7/1 in the betting, so it should be an open race. I suggest you go wide in all exotics. Some betting sites will be offering five places for an EW bet so I suggest you shop around for value. My tentative selection is COSMIC HIGHWAY. He has gone of the boil in recent races but on best form he has upset potential. At a massive 40/1 in the betting, I will have a small EW nibble and hope for the best.

Race 8 – 1400m (Class 4)
SENHORA VICTORIA won in a Class 5 race last time. She takes a rise in class now but is in a good space and can be competitive. She runs with 53.5kgs, and with some luck, can run into the top three.

Race 9 – 1000m (Cape C Stakes)
BECKY SHARP showed signs of a form return when she finished second in her last race. I am backing her to confirm that run, with another strong outing. At 11/1 in the betting, she represents the EW value in the lucky last.
