Sunday’s horse racing action is available from KZN, with an eight-race program from the Scottsville track. Racing begins at 12:35 and includes a competitive FM 88 Handicap event in Race 7. SONATA SAMARITAN last two starts have been excellent, and she is coming along nicely. She meets the right field to shed her maiden tag, and is my banker in the PA.

RUN TO RIO has lost his form, but I will take my chances on him with his light weight. Carded to race with just 50.5kgs, the four-year-old can sneak into the money.

Race 7 – 1200m (FM 88 Handicap)
BEAUTIFUL RANIA carries just 49kgs in this race, which means she has an outside chance. Her last two starts have been decent, and if she gets to the front, she can hold on for a top three finish.

Race 8 – 1100m (MR 86 Handicap)
With four wins and two seconds in his last six races, MASTERBLING is the form horse in the lucky last. He does step up in class, but carries a handy mass of 53.5kgs. I expect a good run and he can close the weekend for us with some EW returns.
