Thursday’s horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with a seven-race program from the Vaal Classic track. Racing begins at 12:50 and includes two competitive Class B events. LETS PLAY POKER followed up his maiden win with a good win. I see no reason why he can’t complete the hat trick of wins. At 6/1, he represents the EW value here.

Race 4 – 2000m (Middle Stakes)
TAMARISK TREE has been flirting with the winner’s box and could finally get another win. He has top form and I am backing him to get his fourth career win.

Race 5 – 2400m (MR 80 Handicap)
BANHA BRIDGE dictated terms well last time and looked like a winner, before getting caught late on. I think his connections will adopt the same front running tactics. Hopefully this time he manages to hold on for the win.

Race 6 – 1400m (FM 94 Handicap)
FASTNET FILLY has won both her starts since relocating from the Cape. She takes a jump in class here but carries a low mass of 52kgs. I think she is ahead of the handicapper, so she represents the EW value.

Race 7 – 1400m (FM 76 Handicap)
WHISTLEDOWN should improvement with the blinkers and I am glad that the equipment stays on. If the filly confirms that recent effort, she is overpriced at 15/1 in the betting. A small EW bet to close the day’s racing.
