Friday’s horse racing action is available from Gqeberha, with an eight-race program from the Fairview Turf track. Racing begins at 12:30 and includes a competitive Conditions Plate event in Race 2. Below are our South African horse racing tips and suggested bets for the day’s racing. Race 1 – 800m (Maiden Juvenile Plate)
No bet for the opener, as majority of these runners are seeing a race course for the first time.

Race 2 – 2000m (Conditions Plate)
JOY AND PEACE is the class horse in this race. She will relish the return to the Turf and is the horse they all have to beat. She is my banker in the BIPOT and PA.

Race 3 – 1000m (Maiden Plate)
This is a competitive Maiden race, so go wide in the opening leg of the Pick 6. I am in the camp of WINTER IN PARIS. The filly is having her first run in Fairview, and brings good Highveld form. If settled, she is a massive runner.

Race 4 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
GENTEEL has been running well and on best form should shed her maiden tag. She has the Cape raider to beat, but with some luck, she should run into the money.

Race 5 – 2000m (MR 81 Handicap)
JUAN CARLOS has good form lines and is a big runner in this Handicap event. Despite carrying top weight, I expect a top three finish from the talented seven-year-old.

Race 6 – 2400m (Classified Stakes)
KAROO GOLD found no luck in running last time, as he had to be steadied at the 300m mark. He has fair form, and with better luck in running, should fight out the finish.

Race 7 – 1400m (MR 80 Handicap)
GOLDEN PAVILION won well on his first start in his new home. He takes a step up in class here but carries a handy mass of 56.5kgs. On best form, he should run into the money.

Race 8 – 1000m (FM 78 Handicap)
LOVEGRASS is having her first run since relocating from the Highveld. Despite carrying top weight, she is my preferred selection in the lucky last. She has been racing against stronger in Joburg, so she should have no issues against this field.
