The new Champions League format continues for a second season, having started in 2024 and running through to 2027. The traditional group stage is gone, replaced by a single 36-team league table where every club plays eight matches against different opponents.

Champions League Predictions ¼ finals first leg
Barcelona – Atl. Madrid
Tip 1
Barcelona have a stranglehold going on at home right now, with 13 straight wins on their own turf at the Camp Nou – and even more impressively they have covered that -1 handicap bet in a streak of 9 games. While Atletico Madrid may have the upper hand in the Copa del Rey, you can bet they’re going to struggle on the road after what we’ve seen from Barcelona at home recently.
PSG – Liverpool
Tip: Both teams to score
These two always seem to go at each other hammer and tongs – when they meet, you can usually bank on both teams ending up with their names on the scoresheet. Historically they’re pretty much level pegging – both with 3 wins each and all that – but what’s more telling is what we’ve seen in their recent matches against each others this season. Both have managed to find the back of the net across the two legs – which is a pretty good indicator that this one’s gonna be an open affair. Given PSG are averaging 2.8 goals per match this season and Liverpool’s well-documented history of putting the hurt on teams in Europe, you can bet clean sheets are gonna be few and far between.
Real Madrid – Bayern Munich
Tip: Madrid to win
Real Madrid have really taken over in recent years in their Champions League meetings against Bayern – they’ve won 7 of their last 10. and to top it off they just absolutely dismantled Manchester City 5-1 in the previous round. On the flip side , even though Bayern are scoring for fun (10 against Atalanta recently), Real’s got the home advantage at the Bernabéu and a whole lot of experience under their belts which gives them a distinct edge.
Sporting CP – Arsenal
Tip: Over 2.5
Sporting have absolutely transformed that Estádio José Alvalade of theirs into a goal-fests waiting to happen – they’ve won 17 of their last 20 matches there, and you can bet they’re gonna keep on scoring. And as for Arsenal – they’re the current Premier League leaders and have shown they can score for fun too – they’ve just navigated a pretty high-scoring tie against Leverkusen. Both teams love going at it full throttle on the pitch, so a high-scoring affair is all but guaranteed.
