Fairview Selections
Race 1 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)
MANEKI NEKO should win the opener but is too short in the betting at 7/10. I prefer MASTER FORESTER, who ran well in his debut effort in the province. If he reproduces that effort, he will run into the money.

Race 2 – 1400m (Maiden Plate)
ENGLISH MISTRESS should win this race but is too short in the betting at 7/10. LADY LUCK has produced two decent efforts in Gqeberha, and can run well again against these rivals. With some luck, she can finish in the placings.

Race 3 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
POTENT CAPTAIN prefers the Poly, but he is good enough to win on the Turf. He has decent form, and Sean Veale may be able to get the best out of him at the finish.

Race 4 – 1200m (FM 66 Handicap)
MY AMI BEACH takes a drop in class and can return to winning ways. She has not finished too far back in recent runs, and gets the apprentice claim. Carrying 58kgs, she should be competitive in this easier class.

Race 5 – 1200m (MR 96 Handicap)
I am taking a chance with AUSSENKEHR, who is having his peak run in the province. He showed nothing in his two starts but should enjoy running on the Turf again. He is a classy gelding and, with some luck, can show a form return. If he does, he is overpriced in this race and represents excellent EW value.

Race 6 – 1600m (Listed Stakes)
You can ignore LUNA HALO’S last start as she was reported not to be striding in running. In 14 races, she has eight wins, 2 seconds, and two fourths. She is a quality four-year-old filly and can challenge her rivals. At 6.5/1, she provides exceptional EW Value and is my best bet on the card.

Race 7 – 1600m (Listed Stakes)
SUGAR MOUNTAIN is the horse to beat, but at 7/10, I searched for EW value. FAIRY KNIGHT is not the stable elect for the Greef yard, but I think he is the horse to beat. He has five wins in six races and is a hard trier with consistent form lines. I expect him to run into the money and challenge SUGAR MOUNTAIN; he is my best value bet for the day.

Race 8 – 2000m (MR 86 Handicap)
It is the lucky last, and I found a double-digit lurker. ALADO’S PRIDE has top form and never runs a bad race. He won two in a row and followed up with two good runs into the money. He carries 56.5kgs, and with Muzi Yeni on board, the pair can provide us with some EW returns for the weekend’s betting.
