COUNTESS Q brings moderate Highveld form to her new surroundings. However, if she takes to the Poly, she should be competitive in this field. So, a small EW bet for me.

On weight turnarounds, MY BEST SHOT should not win this featured race. However, he is a classy colt and on best form I think he will put this field away. He represents the EW value here.

Race 4 – 1600m (FM 64 Handicap)
BLUE PALACE has showed signs of a form return and is having her peak effort now. I expect a strong showing and she should fight out the finish.

CANFORD QUEEN is having her first run in Gqeberha. She had good KZN form and if she is settled in her new home, she is a massive runner. I love her EW value, and I think she will be very competitive.

Race 6 – 2000m (MR 68 Handicap)
HEART STEALER has won once and finished second in two starts in Gqeberha. He loves racing here and despite carrying a big weight, he is the horse to beat.

Race 7 – 1000m (MR 68 Handicap)
SHARAPOVA returns from a 24-week break and is racing in her new home. She should have settled and should be ready to race. If she is fit, she should have a say in the outcome of this race.

Race 8 – 1400m (MR 86 Handicap)
TRAVEL MASTER has been beaten in close finishes in his last three races. He rises in class, but carries a handy mass of 53.5kgs. With some luck in running, he can sneak into the placings.

Race 9 – 1400m (MR 72 Handicap)
GOLDEN PAVILION finished third in his local debut. He will come on from that run and should improve. On best form, I think he is better than this field and should go close to winning.
