SON OF ERUPT ran a good second in his debut effort in the province. He should come on from that run and is a blinker strike in this race. With some luck, he should finish in the top three.

MILLION REASONS is much better than her last start in a Listed event. She returns from a four month break, and if fit she should finish in the placings.

RAVILIOUS showed signs of a form return in his last two starts. He is the best-weighted runner in this race, and if he confirms his upturn in form, he is a leading contender.

Race 4 – 1600m (Novice Plate)
SPECMAGIC has consistent form lines and is in a good space. He does have it all to do at the weights, but he runs well on the Poly and can sneak into the placings.

Race 5 – 1200m (MR 84 Handicap)
COOL WINTER showed signs of a form return last time and is weighted to finish closer to the favourite, MASKED VIGILANTE. If he runs a similar race, he should fight out the finish.

HAPPY HOLLY is the class filly in this race and is the horse to beat. However, I am playing to beat her with YOU WIN AGAIN. The mare has won three in a row and is in top form. She gets the services of Richard Fourie, and he can pilot her to a four-timer.

Race 8 – 1400m (Eastern Cape Poly Challenge 2nd Leg)
You must load up in the exotics for the featured race of the day. KING REGENT won the first leg of this Challenge and should go close again. I am in the camp of the talented filly LUNA HALO. She is taking on male rivals but can go close with a weight of 59kgs. She is unbeaten in three races at this course and can continue her impressive career with a ninth win from 16 races.

Race 9 – 1400m (FM 66 Handicap)
FLOWER FESTIVAL is loving racing in the Eastern Cape. Since relocating from KZN, she has won her last two races. She does take on stronger but has the form to notch up the hat trick. She represents excellent EW value in the lucky last.
