Friday night’s horse racing action is available from KZN, with an eight-race program from the Greyville Poly track. Racing begins at 15:30 and includes a competitive MR 91 Handicap event in Race 3. Race 1 – 1400m (Maiden Plate)
CORAL BLAZE is the short-priced favourite raiding KZN to win her maiden race. I think this run comes too soon from her last start, so I am trying to beat her. MAGIC MAVERICK has okay form and can go close from a good draw of two.

Race 2 – 2000m (Maiden Plate)
RASTIGNAC and CITY LIGHTS are also raiding from the Highveld and are leading contenders. However, I am in the camp of the local runner, AMOR FATI. If he sees out the 2000m trip, he can run into the money.

Race 3 – 1800m (MR 91 Handicap)
BANZAI PIPELINE ran a good third last time and should enjoy running on the Poly. He carries a handy mass of 52.5kgs and can sneak into the placings.

Race 4 – 1800m (MR 73 Handicap)
POWER STAR rallied late last time and was running on well. He has a wide draw to overcome but carries a low mass of 52.5kgs. With some luck, he should fight out the finish at a massive EW price.

Race 5 – 1600m (FM 69 Handicap)
CERULEAN DANCER hails from Gauteng and brings decent form. She takes a drop in class and is the horse to beat here. She has good form running on the Poly and should go close.

Race 6 – 1400m (MR 65 Handicap)
COUNT MARSH has fair form and has not finished too far back in his races. Carded to race with 52.5kgs, he can fight out the finish despite having a wide draw.
Suggested Bet – COUNT MARSH EW @ 9.5/1❌
Race 7 – 1000m (MR 81 Handicap)
MASK ON last four starts have been excellent, and his consistency may be rewarded with a win soon. He carries no weight with 51kgs in this sprint race, and from a good draw, he is a leading contender.

Race 8 – 1200m (MR 72 Handicap)
TRENTINO has been rested for 18 weeks and may need this run. However, I am playing a small EW bet as the odds are too high on the mare. She is carded to race with just 48.5kgs and will be mowing them down at the finish. I hope she is fit to race, and if so, we will get a run for our money.
