Saturday’s horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with a nine-race program from the Turffontein Inside track. Racing begins at 12:05 and includes a competitive Pinnacle Stakes event in Race 5. Below are our South African horse racing tips, predictions and suggested bets for the day’s racing. FAR REACHING should win the opener, but at 4/10, she represents no value. Due to the restrictive odds and my lack of confidence in the other runners, I have no suggested bet for the opener.

LACEWING is another short-priced favourite that should win. At 7/10, she does not represent value, but you can combine her odds with FAR REACHING in the first to get a good 14/10 win double. Due to the restrictive odds and my lack of confidence in the other runners, I also have no suggested bet for this race.

Race 3 – 1450m (Maiden Plate)
ACCEPT COOKIES made the natural improvement in her second start and should run well here. She is having a peak run and is the horse to beat.

BINGWA is the class horse in the featured race but has a massive weight. With 62kgs, he is carrying 8kgs more than any runner and will need a lot to go his way to win. Still, I believe he should run well and can finish in the money.

LEAD THE CHARGE is the best-weighted runner in this race and should be the horse to beat. The three-year-old is progressive and could be ahead of the handicapper. I will be shocked if he does not run into the top three at worst.

CHASING HAPPINESS has good form and loves running at this course, with two wins from two. She carries a top weight of 60kgs, but she races on the speed, and may be hard to catch at the finish.

Race 8 – 1800m (MR 96 Handicap)
JULIET TANGO showed signs of a form return last time, and I expect her to run another good race. Piere Strydom takes the ride, and his experience can be the difference. With some luck in running, the mare can cause an upset and notch her fourth win in her career.

Race 9 – 1800m (FM 75 Handicap)
PLAY WITH FIRE last two starts have been good, and she can run well again. She is her trainer’s only runner on the day, and with Smanga Khumalo in the saddle, she warrants respect. She does have a wide draw to contend with, but with some luck and if not too far back at the finish, she can run into the money.
