Saturday’s horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with a nine-race program from the Turffontein Standside track. Race 1 – 1160m (Maiden Plate)
TOGETHER AGAIN is a seasoned maiden filly, but she has consistent form. She always runs into the money, and I expect another fair run. She should sneak a place at worst.

DYLAN’S CHAMP was a warm favourite in his debut but did not produce a good effort. He drops in trip here, and that should help him run better. He should race better now and not be so green, so he represents some EW value.

PANNING GOLD has been costly to follow and has been a beaten favourite in three of his last starts. He has consistent form, and his maiden win is not far away. I expect another strong showing here.

Race 4 – 1600m (Maiden Juvenile Plate)
PARTY PUNCH has finally understood what racing is about, and her last two runs have been good. She takes on similar rivals here and can run into the money again.

Race 5 – 1600m (MR 74 Handicap)
VIVA DE JANEIRO has consistent form lines and never seems to run a bad race. The four-year-old gets the blinkers fitted, and that could make the difference between a place finish and a win.

Race 6 – 1400m (Pinnacle Stakes)
It is the featured race of the day and many with winning chances. I like CAPTAIN PEG to get a much-deserved seventh win in her career. She is a special filly and has bounced back to form. With 55.5kgs, she can be competitive in this field and represents EW value.

Race 7 – 1000m (FM 91 Handicap)
I think there is some value in this sprint race with MIST IN SCOTLAND. She ran a poor effort in KZN on Wednesday but did not enjoy the conditions. She can fight out the finish if this run has not come too soon.

Race 8 – 1000m (MR 74 Handicap)
MIDNIGHT FUSION has fair form and is weighted to run well. Carrying 58kgs, she can be competitive and give her male rivals a test. She will need some luck in running, and if she does not change strides, she should contest the finish.

Race 9 – 1000m (FM 76 Handicap)
The betting odds suggest the winner will come from one of NEERAH, MICKIE’S BOMB, PEACE OF MIND and FENNEC FOX. All of them are priced around the 3/1 mark. However, I don’t believe the race is that simple, and I searched for EW value. WAITFORGREENLIGHT has fair form and runs with 56.5kgs. She is weighted to finish close to the favourites. With some luck in running, she can run into the money and send us home with some EW returns.
