Saturday’s horse racing action is available from the Western Cape, with a nine-race program from the Durbanville Turf track. Racing begins at 12:05 and includes a competitive Class 3 event in Race 6. Race 1 – 1250m (Maiden Plate)
ENGLEFIELD GREEN produced a decent debut run, especially after a slow start. That form line has been franked with three winners. With experience under her belt, she should race much better and is the horse to beat.

It is unbelievable to think that CLIFF SWALLOW is still a maiden. He has produced several good runs and should win soon. Let’s hope it’s today and we get all the returns.

Race 3 – 1250m (Maiden Plate)
ARCTIC WIZARD needed his comeback run and should strip fitter. On his debut effort, he should be competitive. At 10/1, he represents the EW value.

Race 4 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
TERMINATOR has finished second in his last two starts. Those form lines have been franked, and he should run well. He has a wide draw to overcome but should not be 7.5/1 in the betting. Have an EW bet, and let’s hope for the best.

Race 5 – 1800m (Class 4)
AMONG THE CLOUDS has finished second in three of her last four starts. She is weighted to go close here, and I will be shocked if she finishes out of the places.

PORQUE TE VAS is much better than her last start, as the saddle slipped. She has top form before that effort, and can bounce back. She carries a handy mass and is a dark horse in this sprint.

TAMBOURINE MAN took a while to shed his maiden but followed up with an impressive third. He carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs, and can run into the money.

Race 8 – 1400m (Cape C Stakes)
I found some big EW value here with MISS NEW YORK. She had a lame left front last time, so you can ignore that run. She won before that race and can run well again in a similar field. Carded to race with 57kgs, she has the weight and form to cause a massive upset.

Race 9 – 1400m (Class 4)
WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN is a progressive colt. He won his maiden and followed up with another good win. Both of those wins have been franked, and he is a big runner here. Despite carrying a top weight of 60kgs, I think he is still ahead of the handicapper and can run into the money.
