BOUNCEBACK produced a decent second run when finishing fourth. He looks progressive and will come on from that run. He should fight out the finish.

GIMMETHATPEARL represents the EW value in this race. The two short-priced favourites are returning from a break and may need this run. The filly bounced back well last time and can sneak into the placings.

Race 3 – 1000m (Cape C Stakes)
LOVE SHACK has strong form lines and has been running well. She does carry top weight in this sprint race but has the form to be competitive.

Race 4 – 1250m (Cape C Stakes)
KELP FOREST represents the EW value here and has top form. You can ignore his last run as the jockey felt something amiss in running. Before that run, he won two and finished third in three races. He is a dark horse to cause an upset.

Race 5 – 2000m (Cape C Stakes)
I found a massive price runner here in BATON ROUGE. He does carry top weight but takes a drop in class and can go close. He ran behind a top sort last time in CALL TO UNITE, who went on to win the Settlers Trophy. At 18/1, the price on BATON ROUGE is wrong, and I suggest a decent EW bet.

Race 6 – 1600m (Class 4)
MY BESTIE has been running well and has decent form. He gets the 4kgs appie claim, and with 54kgs, he can run well. A small EW bet at a big price.

It is a competitive Grade 3; you must go wide in the exotics. I like QUESTIONING to continue his top form. He has been running well and has won two of his last three races. He can fight out the finish with some luck from his wide draw.

Race 9 – 1250m (Cape B Stakes)
SPEED RACER is an ultra-consistent gelding. He has finished in the top three in 12 out of 13 races and is a leading contender in this race. At 6/1, he offers EW value, so have a go.

Race 10 – 1250m (Class 5)
VERONIQUE has not finished too far back in her races. She has decent form and carries a handy mass of 54.5kgs. With some luck in running, she can close the card for us with some EW returns.
